Gotta love old tools

A neighbour asked me to shorten a home-made "key" for a valve in his well, made from sections of galvanized water line with a handle made with a tee. I ground off the spot weld holding the handle on and spun it off, then got out the old Oster "Bulldog" pipe threader and threaded the shortened pipe. Worked like a charm.

Generally referred to as a "Monkey wrench" or a "Stillson wrench". Pipe wrenches are a form of stillson wrench, which refers to the method of adjustment.

Today's engineers have no idea what you are talking about......You can really baffle them with a slide rule too.

Go to the parts store and ask for a 1/4 in almite.......They at you like you had horns........THEN....Ask them for a 1/4 in grease fitting......."O yea. We got those.
