Out with the old and in with the new

Most all of my tools are kept where I used them last and at times are close to impossible to find.

I've had a Craftsman roll away forever, and I know where every tool is in each of the many drawers without any labels. Soon after my wife and I got married I had to work on Saturdays. One Saturday I came home from work and asked my wife what she did all day. She proudly said she spent the day "organizing" my tool box. She not only rearranged everything, but changed the drawers my screwdrivers, wrenches, and all of the other tools were in. I guess she realized what a mistake she had made by the look on my face. It took me forever to get it re-arranged. To keep her out of my toolbox I bought her a toolbox of her very own.

The best sockets and wrenches I own are Craftsman tools owned by her late father, some of which are now well over 100 years old. And no, they don't make them like that any more.

I have an assortment of el cheapo and higher-end (Craftsman, Proto, Snap-On, etc.) sockets in about every size and depth available, up to 2". I guess if I were a professional mechanic who had to remove and replace hundreds of nuts and bolts every day the situation might be different, but I have personally never had any failures of the cheap made-in-China/Taiwan/India sockets or wrenches.

I'd say that most of the wrenches, socket sets are well over 20 years old. On 1/4" socket set by SK has to be over 50. Was my dads from when he worked on the railroad. 6-8-10 pipe wrenches and one honest to God 14" monkey wrench. Years ago did what work I could on my cars and trucks and tractors. So have amassed quite the collection. I swear they must but the two drain plugs on the L3800 with an impact gun that's how tight they were. Frank

How many sets I have no idea.
Over the last 40 plus yrs I have collected alot of tools.
I have two things I will not sell
Tools and Guns.
Once I acquire them I keep them.
Reason: If I needed it once and bought it I will likely need it again and have it.

I do have 6 multi drawer boxes most are at least 8 drawer.
One roll around 2 drawer lift top I use for well rolling around shop.

My "shop"'is an added on bay off the back of main garage so no long distance.

Built this a few yrs ago from a dead beat up mess to this all by me in my shop except paint.
