Thanks to everyone for you help with my first question on my new Governor. New issue: I'm noticing that the cylinder release is pretty stiff -- so much so that my wife has a bit of a hard time with it. When you push in the release or latch for the cylinder, you have to rather forcefully push the cylinder out from the other side, and it's not easy to do. Is that common, and is there something i can do you ameliorate this issue? Any thoughts are appreciated.

I believe the Governor has that ball detent retention at the front of the yoke/crane that causes the force required to swing out the cylinder.

Check your ejector rod and make sure it is tight. If they loosen up it will make it very difficult to swing out the cylinder when trying to push in the cylinder release.
