well I was told a couple of months back that I was expecting a new grandchild this June.

so I wanting to insure my newest grandchild would be able to own a gun decided to buy the child its first, the rifle I decided on for my next grandchild
was a henry carbine 22 with the big lever.

the rifle came in and was a nice little H001 carbine, and shortly after it arrived we were sent a pizza with the word girl spelled out in pepperoni, letting us know the gender was to be a little girl.

there fore since it was to be a little girl and her mama had been craving spicy stuff throughout the pregnancy I decided the little rifle needed a little spicing up as well.

so I turned to Andy Larson of Skinner sights out in Montana for some help.

After a few emails I took off the parts discussed and sent them to Andy for his work, less than two weeks later I received my parts back completed.

the receiver cover and forearm band which I had him apply muddy girl, also had him install one of his sights on the receiver using a stainless aperture post with the black sight, with Papas girl 2018 engraved on the sight, he was kind enough as well to engrave the child's initials on the filler plug that replaced the factory rear sight, had the front sight milled out for a 3/8 dovetail and had him install a brass front sight post.

and I am extremely happy with his work, he is a class act!

while the finish rifle is a little busy for my personnel taste the little gun I hope will give my granddaughter a lifetime of happiness

so I want to express my thanks to Henry for building a great little rifle here in America, Andy @ skinner sights for delivering above expectations, and all the people here who take their time to read my post, and God for another branch from our family tree

Well done!!! Love the Henry's and have several for our kids as well....that one you put together is a keeper and will be treasured for years. Make sure to post a follow up pic once she's in the picture with it!

Congratulations on your new grand daughter. Been thinking of giving one of my Winchester 1894's in 30-30 to my grandson. While the blueing isn't the greatest wood is in decent shape and everything works as it is supposed too. Few Boxes of shells and maybe a hunting knife as well as a compass. Course he isn't 1 year old so this just might have to wait awhile.,and my Marlin 25 bolt action in 22rf. Start small and work up to the 30wcf. Frank

Excellent choice and a real beauty to look at. Hopefully will be a treasured gift and heirloom all her life.
