Those style of grips are either loved or hated. Either way, their ridges do provide a very good grip, which is important in a handgun. Nice gun and welcome to the forum!I’m kinda torn, but that’s what he had on there so they’ll stay.

Wouldn't change anything from the way he owned it as long as it functions correctly .I’m kinda torn, but that’s what he had on there so they’ll stay.
He was the constable in Howard County, Texas. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos. I was able to find some official records to back up family lore that he was in fact the constable though. I would love to have his badge to go with the gun, being a police officer myself I think that would be awesome!Do you happen to have your Grandpa's Badge or any photos of your Grandpa with his Constable Badge and Gun? It's so wonderful to hear that this type of Family History is still alive and well. Where was this particular Constabulary in Texas? Peace and Blessings!
It seems to function correctly but I have yet to fire it.Wouldn't change anything from the way he owned it as long as it functions correctly .
A letter will tell you when it left from the factory and its next destination...From that point forward there may or may not exist a further trail...That's where the fun of tracing history is...I wish I knew where this gun came from because it’s probably 20 years older than my grandfather.
Besides having some great memories, you are fortunate to also have something in the physical realm to go along with your memories, and that is truly special. Stay safe and alert for this world is drastically changing by the minutes! Thank you for your kind response. Peace and Blessings. He was the constable in Howard County, Texas.
