I do like nickel and wood. I traded into this 1976 Colt Detective Special yesterday:

Oh man, that is a beautiful piece! I passed up a good deal on one just like it a few years ago because to me, it was too pretty to carry. I realize how goofy that might sound, but I'm a shooter, and all of my firearms are for work, not safe queen duty. Congratulations on your acquiring a truly nice revolver.

Regards,

Dave

I traded into it...

an Enfield No. 5 Jungle Carbine that I had on consignment at a friend's gun shop...

Not to be brand specific but I do have the following Nickel S&Ws - pictures posted elsewhere on these forums:

Model 1-1/2 .32 S&W Short, Model 59, Model 29-3 6" (interesting the 2 is over stamped by the three), Model 57 8-3/8", Model 58 4", Chief's Special 3" round butt, and an Airweight shrouded hammer .38 special. I also have a pair of Rock Island 1911s, one in .38 Super, the other .45 acp.

to shoot or not

Dave - I shoot my guns; even the late 1800s Model 1-1/2. Had it been unfired, in the original box, with all the papers then maybe I'd not shoot it....NOT. I bought a pair of Coonan .357 Magnum 1911s; a Model B and a Cadet. Both were unfired, NIB. It only took me a week before I changed that...they are still like new, in the boxes but are fired now!
