As an introduction of myself I would like to share one of my other hobbies. I love the movie Jaws. I have collected some original props and “same as seen in” items from the movie. If you know me (1badf350 from other gun forums) you may recognize these pictures
My most prized items are my Greener light harpoon gun that is identical to the one in the movie. I also own two barrels I purchased from Susan and Lynn Murphy of Martha’s Vinyard. Susan and Lynn worked on the set during filming. When filming wrapped they obtained many of the items used to make the film. The barrels were all black. There were a bunch of them used for floatation for the special effects barges and platforms. Since the mechanical shark did not work half the time, the decision was made to use the barrels to represent the shark. So the special effects crew from Universal Studios took 10 of the barrels and painted them yellow for the film. The remaining black barrels continued to be used as floatation devices. Those barrels were retained by the Murphy’s. The two I own are from that batch. I painted one yellow and left the other black.
Hope you enjoy the pictures below.
