Happy to be on board with this crew! I recently retired from the Los Angeles Police Dept after 26 years. Moved to Newfoundland, Canada with my Newfoundland born wife. As getting my pistols into Canada was possible, but an absolute pain, I started over once I got here. Recently got very lucky and scored two beautiful guns to re-start my collection here in Canada. 1. Mod 14 (no dash) 6” .38 Special and a Mod 17-3 6” .22lr. Both are in excellent almost new condition with original boxes. Are there any other Canucks in this crew?

That’s an absolutely beautiful part of the world. I spent 10days hunting moose around hare bay. Welcome to forum and watch out for the moose.
 
I don't live there, but have a close friend that does. He lives in St. John's. He got there the same way you did, married a Canadian woman he met while in the service stationed in Hawaii. We were classmates in gunsmithing school nearly 60 years ago.

Is Newfoundland the place that the Canadian govt paid people to leave and left abandoned towns all over the coast?
