Just wanted to drop in and say hello to everyone and share my story. I was once an opponent of the 2nd amendment because I thought that guns in the wrong hands can be deadly but because of 3 recent events I have a whole new admiration for the 2nd amendment and the fine people who live each day to preserve its rights.
1) The ATF's "Fast and Furious" program made me wonder why the government condemns legal gun owners but allows illegal guns to be given to criminals.
2) The London riots taught me that evil never needs a reason to act out but citizens (the shop owners and residents) are at the mercy of their government to protect them and government has proven again that it's incapable of doing anything correctly.
3) My friend lost a bet (but won the war with converting me) that it was too hard to get a firearm in California. I'll admit that if anyone can't pass the written test to purchase a firearm shouldn't own one but the fees and hoops they put you through to legally own a handgun is ridiculous.
Other then that please accept my apologies in advance if I ask basic questions and if anyone is interested I just purchased a S&W Sigma SW9VE.
