I am a brand new member to S&W Forum and I respectfully request that you all accept my greetings and best wishes. I am a novice gun owner and I look forward to learning a lot about guns and ammo, particularly about S&W products from this honorable and highly respected forum.
I recently purchased a S&W Model 10 from a gun shop. The serial number begins with BKN4. Does anyone out there know anything about this gun from the serial number? What positive qualities does this gun have for a novice gun owner?

Greetings, and welcome to the S&W Forum - I am also new here. Wikipedia has an excellent article on the Model 10, first produced in 1899 and still in production today, according to the article.

The serial number BKN is going to be in the middle of 1991. A more precise timeframe will need to come from S&W.
