Grip adapter advise.

Looking for one for a friend who has a 4" 29-2.

Any advise on how to order one would help a lot and which brand is your favorite.

I have never tried BK Grip Adapters, but some people swear by them. Being plastic puts me off a little, but the price is reasonable and they ship promptly. I mean to get around to ordering some one of these days.

I like Tyler T-Grips (see one on an M28 below). I got these 15 years ago, so I don't know how long the wait time is these days. Some people complain bitterly about long delays. According to their website they have cleaned up their act in this regard.

BK does seem to have a very good following and I've heard nothing bad about them. Unfortunately (for me) they make the T grips in plastic, not metal which I personally prefer. That said, many are willing to trade the metal for plastic in return for a properly run Company.

Kenny-Tyler’s are more old school/traditional and have a couple polished metal ones for a certain look. BK has two clips that seem to make them more stable and secure on the gun. You’ll have them a few days after the order. I’ve had good experiences with them. Jh

In regards to the BK adapters being plastic they arn't alone. The vintage grip adapters from Pachmayer, Mershon and S&W were all plastic.

This is my close friend's 29-2.
The first time he took it to the range he didn't like the trigger guard hitting his finger.
I gave him a nice set of combat grips to try and he said they didn't make any difference.
One day at lunch I asked him if he had cleaned the gun since we went to the range
and he told me that he didn't believe that it had ever been cleaned.
The gun has belonged to his dad and it was a truck gun.
So I told him he had better get it to me so I could get it cleaned up.




I got the gun all cleaned up, wrapped it up in S&W paper and put it in an extra gun rug I had for him to keep it in.

I ordered a BK adapter for him due to how quickly I can get it.

I'd like to return his gun with the new adapter to see if he likes it.

I just wish they came in a “stainless” finish ... alas, the paint won’t hold.

If my friend decides he'd prefer a metal one then he can order one.

This one is on my so he can decide if it works for him.

I'm looking forward to giving his gun back to him.

Looking at BK's website, I see that one size fits all K/L/N frames, apparently round or square butt makes no difference.

That sure makes them versatile!
