This is simply a curiosity question and I am not sure where to post this, so I will start here.
I have a model 28-2 that came with a nice set of grips, but they are not numbered to the gun. Close, within 6,000, as the grips are numbered 531751. Gun is N537xxx.
I also have a Model 1917, SN 130XX, that came with much newer N frame grips, but the numbers on the grips do not appear to be related to the serial number of whatever gun they came off of. The numbers on the grip are:
NT 430 and below that, LH 5913.
What is the signifcance of these two numbers, and how do they relate to the SN, if at all?

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment. If, by some unlikely chance anyone would have the guns for either of these grips, please let me know.

Gary

These are part numbers, NT-430 denotes the 44 Magnum, Model 29. LH 5913 is probably the part number for the stocks, but I'm not sure on that. I have a set of grips with the same markings
