Grip question

I had the opportunity to handle a new Model 27 (.357) and a new Model 22(?) 45 ACP revolver. I was under the impression these were both N frame revolvers, or at least their predecessors were. The grips seemed like K frame grip size because they did not overfill my smallish hands. Has the grip size been reduced on these new production revolvers?
