Grip Sleeve - anybody have one

I understand you don't want to right now... but they cost almost the exact same as the hogue.. if one were cheaper i could understand.. but its the same price. ?! maybe you're thinking its more than it really is. or if youre intimidated about taking it apart don't be.. all you need is a single allen key. the rest is a direct replacement.

Thanks Reaper. Do you have to do any other takedown, or do you just remove old, attach new. Seems like I saw something that there were a few loose springs in there.

I think the Hogue is fantastic. But if you want a large grip you may not like the Hogue. Take a look at Magpul MIAD for an adjustable size grip.

Replacing the grip is very easy. All you'll need is a long Allen wrench (keep rifle upside down grip pointing up and you won't lose anything).

^yes just take it out upside down, and slowly, that way the springs will not shoot out. there are two springs, one is a different color so just remember where one of the two goes. took me about 3 minutes to change. if you need additional help heres a vid YouTube - Smith&Wesson M&P15-22 Instructional Series: Grip Removal

It seem that the Hogue grip is very popular. I changed mine out in about three minutes, as stated above. Really, it's not a big deal and the Hogue is exceptionally nice. I have really big hands but the Hogue feels just right, no issues at all. They also make some grips with internal storage capabilities. You can update later by purchasing just the inner parts for around twelve bucks. They sent me just the plug, without the battery holders for nothing. Nice folks. So if you are still deciding, give Hogue a try. I think you'll look good wearing it. if you are still unsure about doing it yourself, go to the sticky posts and look under the video section for a good video on how to do it. Look here;

I bought the ERGO ambi large sure grip for all my ARs recently. I love em, especially for my actual AR-15s in that they keep your middle finger from getting raw from the trigger guard ears. Not so much of a problem with the 15-22. I have tried every grip available now, and I am settling on these.

I use a craftsman 3/16 T handle hex driver dedicated to this task. I may never need it again.

Lots of techniques but this guy knows a thing or two about shooting. Skip to about 1:30 if you're impatient!

Easy to mount the M16A1 grip rather than the stock A2.
