Grip supplier material

Hopefully Im in the correct section, but anyway. I just got a wild hair idea of making my own set of grip...Been partial to Sambar stag or even ?....Does anyone know who would supply blank material for grips. I did search the web but all Ive seen was material for knife handles....Grip are larger...thanks for any help

You can buy large pieces of antler on eBay, I believe. Probably Elk and not Sambar though.

Moose antler can be found also.

I’d suggest making a wood set first, just for experience. Working with antler is a challenge in 3D thinking, because when picking the piece you have to visualize the exterior curves, the level of bark you want, and keeping the internal spongy core from peeking thru. If you start with wood, you can learn about shaping, fitting and attachment without the extra overload.
