This ain't nothin new, but at the rate we are getting new members maybe some are unaware. 9/16" wood blocks from Hobby Lobby. Kinda helps keep em in shape while they are "resting."

I would add don't overtighten the screw. The horn area is typically the thinnest and most delicate part of the stocks and overtightening can warp or crack them if blocked this way.

They clamp into the thicker backstrap area.
