I'm the proud papa of a Hamilton Bowen S&W 5" Heavy Duty .45 Colt. The revolver was shipped to me with S&W magnas(not original to gun). I'm looking to restock this fine revolver. Would you put a set of Blu Magnum Skeeter Skelton style grips or Keith Brown checkered magnas? Or just buy both(help out the economy

)If anyone knows when S&W made my revolver I'd sure appreciate it. Serial # S89707. I don't have a camera, but will try to borrow one and post pics soon. Now if Sportsmansguide would just ship my backordered .45 Colt ammo I could get out and shoot this thang!

The appropriate S&W stocks for this gun is diamond magnas. If you want something nicer, I would go with KB magnas in figured walnut checkered like pre war magnas.

Do a S&Wforum search for keith brown and you might find some good pictures of them.

Here is a thread with a link to his site and gallery:

7.62,
Your gun's serial number is in the same range as the first shipment of Austin PD guns in 1952. You can't go wrong with Keith Brown's grips and you could also put some of his Ropers on it too!
