I just saw in some gun magazine that there is a new 50th Anniversary Model 29. It is clear that this revolver has a wide grooved target trigger. So what's the deal here... Are these triggers MIM or forged? I have heard that it is not possible to make a grooved MIM trigger. Is this true? Are these grooved triggers new production or leftover older parts? Can somebody set the record straight?

David,

Don't directly know the answer, but think about it just a moment. They form the MIM hammers and thumb pieces with checkering, why would anyone think that a trigger could not be produced with grooving? Whoever "said" that is full of **** (pick a word).

Since you obsess over grooved forged triggers why not just call S&W? The PC 627-5's come with grooved forged triggers, JM 625's did, others probably do also. Pick up the phone. They still exist. Even if it's a grooved .312 you could easily thin one down to .256 if that's your desire. PC 627-5's also have forged hammers that would drop into any other FMFP N frame. Whine or deal with it.
