We just got back from spending a couple weeks on a big boat going through the Canal.
We ended up taking 3 suitcases for the two weeks jaunt. One for my wife, one for myself, and a third one for overflow. We learned long ago not to take valuables on trips, or anything we couldn't bear to lose. Those things we do value always such as medicine, electronics and glasses always go in our small carry-ons.
So after we both packed our suitcases, one with man type clothes and one with woman type clothes, into the overflow case went most of our shoes, my rather simple shaving kit, a few magazines, and a good sized baggy full of inexpensive costume jewelry. Weight wise all three bags were balanced within a pound or two of each other.
Guess which bag the TSA agents at Las Vegas' McCarran Airport opened in the interest of national security?
Bet there was some serious disappointment etched across their faces.
