I have about 200 rounds through my Shield. She is shooting very well. I was giving he a once over after a day of training and I noticed some slight bending on the end of the guide rod. Should I be concerned? Is it under warranty?

Yes, It's still under warranty. I have over 1500 rounds through my Shield 9mm and it isn't bent like that.

It will probably function fine, as long as you keep the bent part up and off the shelf when you reassemble it, but it would bother me.

I would contact Smith & Wesson customer service and see if they will provide you with a replacement without sending the gun to them.

Found the Achilles Heel already. Call customer service for a new recoil spring assembly. Happens so often, they don't question it. Sometimes a problem with availability. Meantime, it should get by like that, just keep the bent part out of the barrel seat.

As mentioned contact S&W either by live chat or a phone call. They will ship you a replacement at NC! They may ship one right out if in stock or may take a few weeks,, Type RSA in the search box and you will see several threads

There are a few here that continued to use their bent RSA for quite a while, back when RSAs were hard to find.

Go ahead and see about getting a replacement, but don't let the bend keep you from using it.

My rsa has to be in a certain position to go back together, otherwise I couldn't get the slide to lock back.Makes me wonder if people are just tossing their rsa's back in and applying a lot of force to get theirs to lock back during reassembly.
