This setup costs about $65.

Two things. I hope you don't get stopped by LE and forget its there. Or leave it in there to get stolen.

That's a cool setup but it wouldn't work here in Texas. Gun has to be fully concealed inside your vehicle.

I have the same setup and use it when I'm on a longer road trip. I really like it and unless one is really looking for it, you wouldn't see it. Here in Colorado the law states, "Colorado allows a person to carry a firearm in a vehicle if its use is for lawful protection of such person or another's person or property." You don't even have to have a Conceal Carry Permit. So, it's nice to have for easy access and comfort.

IMHO, a "holstered vehicle" handgun, is carried in addition to the handgun your carry on your person.
Again, IMHO, the vehicle handgun must be concealed from view from eyes looking outside, into the vehicle.

Yes, but when I'm driving nobody is going to be looking in my vehicle, it's easy access and again, good for longer road trips. I don't use this setup for local (in and out of the car, around town driving).

I live on a rough dirt road then a rougher private lane. If I had my 1911 Government in one like that it would probably rip that plastic column cover off pretty quick. 2002 Chevy S-10. A little flimsy for that set up. I like cross draw holsters for travelling.
Peace,
Gordon
