I'm looking to have a holster made for a .32 Cal. No. 4 Top Break. The leather workers need a block that mimics this gun so they can form the leather around it. Does anyone out there have one of these that they would be willing to part with or lend out? If not, does anyone know how to make one? Typically they are made of wood or cast aluminum. Another option would be to use a non-working gun to make a casting. Any help would be appreciated.

You can definitely make one out of wood. I have done this and it worked fine. I make holsters, and I have a cousin in Alaska who wanted a holster made for his Ruger Alaskan. He made a tracing of the gun's outline on a piece of paper and mailed it to me. I transferred the pattern to a piece of birch plywood, and used that form to make the holster. I did not wet mold the holster, but provided him with directions on how to do this himself. He did, and everything worked perfectly.

The wood form does not have to be perfect, because wet leather is very pliable, and the holster can be wet formed around the actual gun after the holster is done.
