GUN IDENTIFICATION

Hello fellow Smith & Wesson owners. I am a 23 year Navy Veteran and a few years ago my father passed away. One of the pistols left to me was a 38 S&W Special CTG. The serial number is D103640. I was hoping someone could give me some detail on where and when this gun was made. Thanks in advance - Ron

Based on the information given, I would guess it is a Model 10 or 12 made between 1969-1970. If you open the cylinder, it should be stamped either MOD 10 or MOD 12. Hope this helps.
