Gun safe -- did I make the right decision?

I just received my Winchester safe - one of the midrange quality units made by Granite Safe Co. I debated installing it in my garage, but finally decided to put it in my office closet because of my fear of humidity and what it would do to my guns. Here in Virginia, we get oppressive amounts of humidity from May through September. I know I can buy those anti-humidity devices, but my thinking is they would only help minimally.

What would you have done (or perhaps already did)?

Put a Golden Rod in it . I have used them for many years and they work great! I will never be without one , that`s how much I like them! I have one in my ammo safe and two in my fairly large gun safe .Both safes are in my basement which is heated and air conditioned and inside the security zone, so I have double protection,and no rust at all. I also keep all of my guns well waxed, but not fanatically clean.
I think you did well to not put it in the garage,-too visible& public- and I never trust garage doors to be secure. The issue now is you have lost your nice closet.

Inside the house is always better, IMHO.
