I was not sure where to post this question, but thought here was as good as any. I am close to outgrowing my gun safe and have begun looking at my choices. What I am looking for is something in the 25 to 30 gun size. I have looked at Cannon, Liberty, and Winchester. These three seem to offer similar features at similar pricing, so I wanted to get feedback from current owners.

Thanks...

Hi:

I purchased a Cannon gun safe from Costco a couple of years ago. The door handle is kind of chintzy looking and feeling, but the safe seems to be okay otherwise. I think it would be a good deterent against the smash and grab theif, and it is a fire safe. A nice feature is that it has a power outlet installed inside for lights/dehumidifier, etc. I had to make a small (approx. 2.0 inch tall) riser for my carbines to fit the long gun slots.

Best of luck,

Dave

I bought one from American Security based on feedback I received here on this subject, I like the universal interior and the door organizer supplied with the safe for versatility.

We got a Stack-On 36Gun safe with digital lock. It's a pretty standart safe with enough room in it. But there is no power outlet for lights or dehumidifier. Also has no setup for mounting to the floor/wall.

If I had the money I would go with an customized Fort Knox safe.

Take a good look at Sturdy Safe.

They have a lot of good info on their site.

Also be sure and watch their videos.

They are very good people to deal with.

I use the Fort Knox Defender 30.
Close to adding another.
Winchester and others all makes good vaults, just partial to Fort Knox personally.

I have the large Liberty President safe and it has served me quite well over the past 16 years. I think that their line of gun safes are a cut above most of the others.

If you really want to do yourself a favor, don't buy a "GUN SAFE", but shop around for a used Jewelry safe and build the interior yourself. For the same money or less than a fancy painted "gun safe", you can get a burglar rated safe that is ten times stronger with a much better locking mechanism. Yea I know they are no as pretty as the gun safes, but unless you are going to have it on display, who cares? A lot of people put them inside an alarmed closet anyway, so why not get a far superior safe for less money? If I had it to do all over again that is what I would do.

I picked up a Winchester Silverado 22 a few months back and so far so good. Its heavy/solid and good for 90 Minutes at 1400ºF. I'd have gone bigger but unfortunately nothing bigger will fit in my house. So it was a good compromise.

Or a used gun safe. I've been into two of the local locksmith shops recently and they both have several used safes for sale. If you aren't stuck on "gun safe", and you know that some are built for theft prevention, some are built to protect from fire, some are built for both (and a few are built for neither;)), you could get a good deal.

I like the post @ Sturdy Safe. Made in USA! I have a Liberty that with one more gun, I'll outgrow.

I bought a 25 gun +/- Liberty safe a few years ago. Seems real nice.

I have three sons with 2-4 guns each, so my safe quickly got full. I recently bought a 14 gun Liberty Centurion safe to stick my kid's guns in. I got it on sale for $349 (regular $500). It's a decent fire-rated safe. Most in this price range are not real good safes.

Is there a room the wife seldom goes into? I am converting my kitchen to a gun room, since the only thing my wife can make is reservations.
