I would like to get a safe for my Shield. Looking for a quality bedside safe with easy access. Any recommendations will be appreciated. TIA.

Gunvault MV500-STD Microvault Pistol Gun Safe - Amazon.com

Mofo:

Perfect for the nightstand and low profile fits perfect under the front seat of my Honda Accord for vacations for cash, jewelry and credit cards. Cable attaches to the bed frame and car seat frame and I can open in 2 seconds in the dark and holds my full size XD 45 and Shield in Desanti pocket holster.

Make sure you can open it with your eyes closed the first time or make sure it's heavy enough to hit them with!

I use a Winchester gun safe that I picked up at Walmart for under $50 and mounted it in my nightstand drawer, 4 digit code unlocks fast. Academy has them also.

One with a mechanical push-button lock would be my choice. There are several brands avail. depending on what features you are looking for. These type locks are fast, reliable, and can be replaced if you ever do wear one out. Look at the Vline, Fort Knox, and FAS1 Safe. There are a couple more brands too.

Just spent alot of time doing research and not wanting any headaches I went with Fort Knox. Childproof and 2 seconds open if you know the mechanical combination.

What model Fort Knox safe did you get? I have an M&P 40c on order. I was looking at the Auto Pistol Box for the truck, and possibly another, or the next larger, for next to my bed. I was wondering what model you had and how yours fit in it? I have kids and would like to get at least one safe/lock-box to keep curious fingers away.

FTK-PB for my bedside. It can be opened in a split second in total darkness.

Thanks for the update. That was another I was considering for the bedside. I really wondered about the FTK-AUTO for my truck though. I think I better get a larger one like that for the house. I've got time to do some research for the truck.

+1 on the Ft. Knox. I've done a fair amount of research and will be ordering one soon myself - they seem like they would be pretty good at keeping out nosy kids, plus there aren't any electronic issues to worry about. The V-Line also looks pretty decent, if you aren't too cracked up about the Ft. Knox. Just my $.02.
