Okay, am I the only one that things this is more than a little bit dangerous???

Worse than dangerous, it's idiotic.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. That is not what happened at that IPSC match. I am not denying that a round went uprange, but those are not the circumstances in which it happened.

Sgt Preston here. We had one in Baltimore Maryland a year and a half ago. Same deal--an immigrant comes in (Russian) asks to rent a hand gun. Has to be shown how to load it etc, etc. He leaves his drivers liscense as security on the rental, takes 1 target & a box of ammo. He shoots 4-5 shots down range at the target then turns 90 degrees & blows his brains out. Obviously the guy never paid for anything. The cost to the gun range: #1 the range has to be shut down for 2 days. The police impounded the gun. The range owner had to shell out $1200.00 to have the blood & guts cleaned up. Add another $16,000.00 for legal fees after the guys widow sued the range owner for "wrongful death". She didn't win, but it cost $16,000.00 for his lawyer to defend him. I personally would not rent guns to people who are not full members of the range. Sgt Preston USMC LLA

I was the assistant MD for that match and I can guarentee you that we would never blindfold a guy with a loaded gun, spin him around, then turn him loose on a stage. You are just asking for trouble. I am not going to argue this here. Call me if you want to talk about it.

Thats fine mine is 262 637 9590, I was the guy working the store that night and had to call Jim

Just spoke to Tom on the phone, when the shooter who was new came to me and the guy I was working with he stated that he was blindfolded and that is what he told Jim.

He was disoriented apparently according to Tom and shot at the back of the targets. Tom says he was not blidfolded and since I was not in the immediate area I have to believe that.

I was reporting what the shooter told us, and I know as time went by his story may have changed as he became less nervous and more of a jerk.

What range was that? I have gone to several in the area.

I went out to Shooter's this morning, Ken seemed to be ok. The man's obit was in the paper, he was a Teacher at one of the local High Schools was 37 married and had to children.

I am never sure why a person chooses that end, I expect they have their reasons but I am not sure I will ever understand why they do it.
