McClelland's, on Centerville Rd., near Garland city limits.
Haven't been there in awhile, but I think they're still there. One of the better shops around here, where there are surprisingly few good gun stores.
Ray's will have a lot of stock, but prices used to be high and the store was rude. I quit going there long ago. They lied to me about having a holster in stock and tried to get me to buy something else after I made a long drive there.
Elephants and customers have long memories.
I've heard they're better now.
For better guns, esp. high end collector stuff, it's Jackson Armory, near the SMU campus in University Park. Snider Plaza. They're in the phone book. There are restaurants in the plaza, too. Kuby's has good lunches if you like German sausage for a main course. The store area also sells good chocolate, inc. Lindt & Sprungli's orange-filed bars.
I really urge you to visit Jackson's. You'll be awfully sorry if you don't. And beat feet over to the Beretta Gallery in nearby Highland Park, at Mockingbird Lane and Preston Rd. It is one of five such stores in the world. The others are in Milan, Paris, NYC, and Buenos Aires.
I suggest that you dress like an Old School guy who went to prep school and a prestigious university. I wear khaki Dockers, Timberland casual shoes and Izod shirts for such rounds. I fit right in. Keep in mind that you will be in a city very like Beverly Hills, and Highland Park was laid out by the same architect. Drive around and look at the houses/palaces. You'll be impressed. Turtle Creek is also a scenic little river there. Your wife (if any) will like the stores in both Snider Plaza and in Highland Park Village, which is, BTW, the oldest suburban shopping center in the USA. It has been renovated over the years, of course.
This is the best that Dallas has to offer. Post if you go there. I think you'll find that area well worth a visit.
