....Used some vintage 2008 "Golden Bullet" to shoot an IHMSA match last weekend. Took the last four rams at 100yards, much to my surprise! Standing, even. (using a no dash 617 to boot!)....
Finally uploaded some photos from the match and discovered an error: Didn't get the last four rams in a row, just four out of five in that bank of five. Still, tickled with the results!

617 ready to go. Not the best photo of the revolver, but was pretty good showing the encroaching shade.

Seem to have gotten well dialed in by the end of the day! BTW, Chickens:25yds, pigs:50yds, turkeys:75yds, rams:100yds
No reason why your 617 can't play at such distances! It did take near on 1000 rounds or so for the 8 3/8" barreled "no dash" to shoot as well as the rather more "experienced" 4", but it's been quite satisfactory since. (Over a decade, now!)
