Post-war S prefix guns ran from '45-'49 serial numbers from 811,120- 999,999,so 1948 would be my guess also. Nice lookin' gun Dan. I had it's twin,but sold it off. :o

Helpful Hints brochure

Very nice gun Dan!!!!
I would like to ask a favor.......do you believe the Helpful Hints brochure was packaged with the gun originally? If yes, then could you please show a picture of the parts diagram on the back page. Also would you measure the EXACT size of the paper unfolded. I (and others) have recently been trying to determine the time periods that these brochures were used. Some have print dates and others don't.
Thank you for your time and consideration;
Mike

s&w M&P...........5-in

good question and I would NOT "swear" to it as thats "how it came" as I do not "know" the seller, in this case trader/swapper......he wanted my 1948 K-22....oh well "money talks and BS walks....";)

as for the 'Helpful Hints' it is 7 1/8 high(tall) and it is 7 5/8 inch wide (across)
here is some other paper 'stuff' we picked up............

a "bullseye target", decal, the paper liner? in English and Spanish and the early, NO "zip code" warranty card.........

Dan;
Does the picture of the gun on the parts diagram have a single line address or the 4 line address? Is there a printing date referenced in the lower right hand corner of the diagram?
Thank you;
Mike

I have it's twin #S980271 in about the same condition with box, etc. Got it from my dad a long time ago. Not to be nosey but I'm curious as to worth? Can't remember for sure what I gave him for it. I think around $250. Haven't fired it since.

Thanks guys, Mike there are NO reference numbers or any dates, and the gun in the picture (back page) has a 4 line address,so would have to be later???
