I just returned form the Odessa, TX, gun show. About 275 tables, not a big show. An initial go-round of the tables didn't show much of interest and high prices. Lots of S&W, Colts and Winchesters. The S&Ws in particular, seemed high priced. The only one I particularly remember was a 'pre 27' 357 Mag, 6 inch barrel, almost no blue wear, very pretty; $975. Nevertheless it was a good show and we will be back for the next one.

Both my partner and I managed to score a few real jewels. He picked up a very pretty little S&W in 32 Long, and I found a Reichsrevolver M 79, made by Gebr Mauser with a holster, and an M8 flare pistol; the only flare pistol I have. It will go in with my US military handguns. I have some questions on these, which I will address in other threads; if I can't find answers here, I probably can't find them anywhere.

Here's a couple of thumbnails of one of my finds, an A.C. Co knife dated 1917, with scabbard by Pelco, dated 1918.

The M 79 is built like a tank. Very well made and big parts. The only weak point is the latch that holds the cylinder pin in place, the springy handle is liable to snap. I got some ammo with it, but it's loaded with smokeless. When I get 44 Russian dies, I'll pull the bullets, replace with fffg and it's off to the range.
