gun storage in a basement

I've had my 30 gun Liberty Safe in my temperature controlled basement for 15 years. All I use is a Remington rechargable dehumidifier and I've never had a problem.

I do keep a hygrometer hanging inside just to keep track of the humidity and have found I need to recharge the dehumidifier more often in the summer.

I'm going to make a wooden base for the safe to sit on that will be tied into the wall studs. The wall where I plan on installing the safe is just studs at the moment so wide open. I'm going to put 2 x 4's in between the studs behind where the safe will go. So the safe will be screwed to the base and the wall ! I think I'll try one of the rechargeable/renewable dehumidifiers first. I'll monitor humidity and go from there. Thanks for all the replies they have been helpful.

Make up some Nut Plates to fasten to the back side of your 2 x 4's and use good sized bolts instead of screws to fasten it to the wall.
