Some may think I am going backwards (maybe I am) but, this is what I did. I had a Glock 27 and traded it for the S&W 539 and I love the 539. Then I bought a Sig 238 (380mm) and didn't like the 380 caliber. I traded that Sig for a Kahr MK9. A little heavy and I like a safety for pocket or in the waist band carry. I sold the Kahr and just bought a new Taurus PT709 "Slim". I took it to the range today and put a couple 100 through her and she was flawless and accurate with a comfortable recoil. I think I am happy now. I was a little reluctant buying a Taurus but, I love the gun. She is I little bigger than the other 2 small guns I had but I like that size better. I don't think I am buying any more real small guns. The 539 is still number one, she is sweet and smooth as silk. Kind of boring but that's my story and I am sticking to it. LOL Hussky

"Gun trading sickness"

Sickness? I thought it was a way of life, LOL!!

I use to have a guitar sickness (30 in 5 years), I got rid of it and now it is guns. Guns are easier to play. Hussky

Race for the cure...

I suffer from the same affliction, only I went "backwards" (as you describe it), so far, that I went full circle and ended up with all revolvers.
Nothin' like a classic smith.

Hi My name is USMC586 and I have a sickness also.
It has been two weeks since my last trade and I don't think I will ever be able to stop myself.

OMG I thought it was just me! At my worst, I stopped on the way home from one gun shop and traded what I just bought for something else at the second gun shop...is there any help for this illness?

if it's a sickness...then I got the fever....

and the only cure I know of is trading my Makarov towards a Smith revolver or 5906 !!!

I didn't trade or sell a gun for 13 years, then I caught it pretty bad.

I grew up shooting my dads Dan Wesson revolver, but I've always leaned towards S&W. There were some plastic bottom feeders along the way. But then I tried a 3rd gen, and fell in love.....Traded away all my plastic in the last 6 months for 3rd gens

I've been trading for years, and now in retirement do it more than ever.

I have to trade because if I keep buying, I'll be sleeping on the couch. :(
In fact, tomorrow I'm meeting up with a guy to swap my very nice 10/22 for a stainless Single Six. :p

Welcome to the wonderful world of OCD.
The cure is buy another S&W, it's a temporary fix. Have fun and keep smiling for tomorrow you may fimd your grail gun. I found one yesterday, right here on the forum. A 642 with a 3" barrel. I like 3" J, K L, and N frames. OCD maybe, but I'm better now.

LOL!!!! You think you are better, but once the high wears off, you be lurking in the WTS forum, looking for your next fix. It never ends, my friend. Just ask me. I have just recently sated my Sig fix and Beretta fix. Wonder how long I'll stay satisfied. :D

I have done this before too. Also bought a Savage #340 .222 after work and sold it at a traffic light half way home to a former neighbor. He hollered at me he needed a deer gun for his youngest son and I passed the Savage out of my window to him and drove off when the light changed. I bought a Browning BPS Stalker 10 gauge pump once and sold it at the county firing range after about seven rounds...it hurt really bad.

Sniper47, Your right, but like I said, it's just a temporary fix. I like the hunt and after you
find your special Smith, you start thinking
about the next one. More, More, I want more!

This is exactly what they call GAS in the guitar world. I have bought several $2500 guitars and sold them in just a few day after I got them. Some times the buying and selling is more fun than the playing. I am 70 years old , someday I will grow up someday and stop this passion. But what is more important after 2 heart attacks, having fun or being sensible? The Hussky name comes from buying and selling many Huss & Dalton guitars, the Huss & Dalton guitars are custom made top of the line US made guitars. The fun never ends I hope? Hussky

My wife thinks every additional gun that I get is from a trade and I don't think it would be right to tell her any different. If the collection grows it is because sometimes I do a 2 for 1 deal (of course there could be some additional money passing). LOL

Being short of cash lately, I've taken to trading some guns. Mostly pieces I have not shot in some years.

I am surprised when some folks won't trade a 4513 or CS9 for my HK USP 45 or Sig 220.

word must be getting out on how good the 3rd gen pistols are! :) Regards 18DAI.

New member here who can relate to this thread. I Just traded "backwards" my trijicon sight equipped Glock 27 for a mint 1980's vintage S/W 649. Can't resist those classic S/W wheelguns and semi-autos. I guess I have an illness also.
