The President mentioned"Gun Violence" in his State of the Union Address. I have yet to see a violent gun and I have owned hundreds of firearms. I have never seen a violent cresent wrench either. I have however seen violent men...and they will use what ever tool is at hand...be it a gun, wrench, tire iron, chain, belt, vehical or what ever is handy. Why not just call a spade a spade? Violence is an act by a human being that is out of control and sometimes it takes violence to confront a violent person.
This is all about taking the ability of the American Citizen to defend themselves against whatever the goverrnment may have in store for us in the future. There is no law that will stop violent criminals...but there are steps that can be taken to minimise risk from a criminal. So far...our President has not seen fit to remove semi and fully automatic weapons with high capacity magazines from his security detail. I believe they even have a vehical with a mini-gun on it to protect the President. The President also has a security detail that protects his children in school. I doubt that he is going to have that detail removed....and he can expect that the American people expect to be able to defend ourselves with the same ability. Our Politicions need to be reminded that they took an Oath...and if they violate that Oath...we need to take steps to demand they be impeached for proposing laws that are unconstitutional. I have no doubt that the NRA will fight the legal battle against any infringement on our second amendment. We need to tell our elected representatives that proposing any law that infringes on our second amendment or bill of rights will be ignored by the American Citizens and we will push back if any unconstitutional law is pushed on us....and there are a lot of us that can push back hard. This is no joke....its our freedom at stake here and if we do not stand up for liberty and freedom, we will stand for nothing and become sheep. Too many patroits have died defending our freedom and we owe a debt to the future generation of Americans to preserve the freedom they died for. I will not shirk my duty if it comes to defending freedom...its our freedom that is being attacked....and its our freedom that needs to be defended. Freedom has never been free and we may have to pay the price to keep our freedom. Do we have what it takes to defend that freedom?

I have not heard our President mention any thing about going after
the gangs and crimanls who use guns . He only wants to take our guns.
We all know that felons can not legally buy a gun from a gun store we also know people under 21 can not buy a hand gun so why does he not go after these peoples guns.
Why has he not mentioned some sort of Federal task force to go after
the law breakers and leave honest gun owning citizens alone.
Could it be that there is no money in it are that they think we are easy targets . They know we respect the law and try to do what is right
so they figure that we will go along with this .
We should all write and call all of our politicians at all level of government and let them know that we are not buying this.
We should all join the NRA and try to get all gun owners involved
we should go to rallies and protest and marches we should do all that we can.
Never never give up.

Owen.....I have e-mailed my politions and told them exackly how I feel. Their finger is on a hot button of rebellion should they think they can neglect their responsibilities to honor the Oath they took to protect and defend the constitution. Trying to take our guns will trigger a responce that will get their undivided attention and be remembered for as long as history is recorded. I would not want to be a ploiticion that disregards the Oath they took and tries to rip up our Bill of Rights. I believe they will get that message loud and clear from many Vets that believe in this country and have fought for our freedom....freedom has never been free and we are willing to fight for our freedom if we have to even here at home. We owe the next Generation of Americans the same freedom that we enjoyed and was paid for by our fathers and grand fathers and we will pass it on...no matter what the cost to us. They will never take our guns or our freedom so help me God. Take a look at the site "Oathkeepers"

Manufactured terms like "gun violence" and "assault weapon" are misleading and dishonest. They are used to persuade the uninformed in an effort to increase their support. These people will stop at nothing in their effort to disarm the law abiding citizen and cripple the second amendment.

We just recievieved a very violent snow storm over the past weekend here in New England. I was happy to hear that the process of banning these high capacity storms is underway!

ALL,
Did anybody note, that when it came to the murder of the girl in Chicago, whose parents were there by Meechelle, the phrase GUN VIOLENCE... was used.!! instead of GANG VIOLENCE...as it has now been reported... the 2 thugs arrested for gunning her down...thought she was in a rival gang...and they were squaring up for a past shooting.!!! and to boot.!! one of the thugs was out on probation...for a past gun crime within the last 18 months...and was one of the shooters.!!!!!!

I always thought it would be a good pro-gun public service ad to do a print piece or billboard where the ad is divided in two. On the left side would be a photo of a handgun or two and on the right side would be a photo of a scary looking hood (bad guy). At the bottom you could ask the simple question, "which of these two would you rather be locked in a dark room with?"
