OK I know I'm old and slow but.... whenever I get a alert from gunbot I go there right away as I leave windows open for each caliber I want and alerts come through as soon as they are posted, less then a minute. I get there and regular price ammo, ammo price before the gouging process, they are sold out as I will not line the pockets of the gouger. Is there another way others are finding out before gunbot? I also subscribe to email notifications several times for each caliber, from the business also but don't get their notifications. What am I doing wrong!!!

Did score some Federal XM193 5.56 at Wally World though 1 box per person per day $8.17 20 rds, 2 in the morning with wife and 2 afternoon after shift change wow I can almost fill my C-Beta mag. I figure at summers end I can go shooting for about 1 hour at this rate:D, unless I get into my reserve but not with my SSAR-15  that would be about 1 minuet then.

Slickguns posts availability and prices before Gunbot I have found but you have to sign up and register your preferences and you'll get an email.
Still faster is picking a few favorite vendors and registering your ammo calibers with them as they generally release ammo info to their customers at the same time it hits the net.
I have been dealing with Palmetto,Natchez,Sportsman Guide,Cabelas but in the grand scheme of things it's still largely hit or miss.

Thanks duppie you might also want to add AimSurplus to your list. I subscribed to them all and Natchez and Brownell are the only ones I get emails from. Cabelas has good prices but only being able to buy one box of each type in stock at a time makes it expensive for me I refuse to overpay I don't need it that bad. I'll just shoot the .177 and .22 air guns almost as much fun and just about as loud as a .22 rimfire.

I can't wait till this ends if it does.

I did forget AIM...I'm waiting for them to get some of those excellent surplus CZ82 pistols back in stock.
I am a bit of a pack rat and was fortunate enough to amass quite a bit of ammo before this most recent run but find it difficult to dig into my stash without a reliable and affordable source appearing in the near future so I just cook instead of shoot.

I have found that there is no one answer. I have found ammo on Gunbot, Armslist, Gun Broker, LGS, and even Craigslist (even though advertizing ammo is against their rules, people still do it). I look in the "For Sale, Sporting" category. I have a good supply in stock (not hoarding levels) but I seem to be able to replace what I shoot (or a bit more) by keeping an eye on all these sources. I haven't paid more than 10 cents a round for 22LR (which still seems high). I have price points in mind on all the calibers that I shoot and don't buy if the price is above that price point and buy it when I see it. If I don't see any at or below my price for a while, I either reassess my price or stop shooting that caliber. I go to the range 4 to 5 times a week.

I don't shoot.22 so I have no frame of reference but payed no more than .19 cents for 9mm,.29 to .35 cents for .38 and about .50 cents for .357 range ammo, so to see the very same rounds going for ,at times 3 times that cost is disheartening to say the least. I am fully aware that those prices are the thing of the past but refuse to feed the beast just to say I haven't adjusted my range visits in light of this panic.

Do you have any sporting good places near you that you can figure out their schedule when they get their shipments? I tried the whole online thing with no success, so I just have been going to my local sports academy and they always have stuff. Well I go on the mornings they get their stuff right as they open but that's a compromise I'm willing to make to get cheap ammo.

The only resource available to us other than a precious few gun shops with out the buying power to compete with the larger chains is Dick's. The profiteers have already hacked the schedule of their ammo shipments and are waiting, along with their friends and family when the doors open.
Later we see all of Dick's ammo being sold at outrageous mark ups on various sites, including our local one.
Ironically it doesn't last long as we have so many new firearms owners climbing over each other to buy, that have no clue as to the "normal" pre panic prices of ammo.

We also have a newer cadre of owners who have no qualms in dropping $1200.00 for a 1 year membership to several new ranges that have opened in North NJ apparently catering to the deep pocket set.
I hardly fit into either demographic.......

19 cents for 9mm? That seems a little improbable. Even the 100 round value pack at Wally World is 22 cents a round before tax. Not saying it isnt out there, but I have yet to see 9mm ammo that cheap lately.

lately? no....but Dick's would put their Remington UMC on sale for $13.98/50 rounds and I usually get 5 boxes at a time to make my trip worth while and use my $20.00 in coupons which works out to just over .19 cents a round.
Dick's offers you a $10.00 coupon just for answering a short survey after purchase and an additional $10.00 coupon when you accumulate points for purchase. I get a bunch of them in the mail and take full advantage.

I have both the CZ82 and polish P64 both very reliable polygonal rifling in the CZ 12+1 capacity. You could be out of luck finding one at the C&R dealers, seems like all they have left are 91/30 and I see a few M38's can't even find any K31's. All the C&R firearms are drying up. Auction sites might be your only choice now. You can still get ammo for the 9X18 easer the .22's if you look around.

You should try to figure out the schedule for Dick's as well then. I admittedly sometimes sell my ammo, but only sometimes and it's only to people I know who will ask if I have any, and if I have plenty I will and I will take a little profit for the trouble of standing in line. I sometimes am in line over an hour but I have a good spot (maybe only a few people in front of me). If that's what it takes to get ammo I do it and hopefully you can do it as well. I am not saying you should do it consistantly but maybe every once in a while if online shopping isn't working.

I just don't have the time....I keep strange hours and when Dick's opens, I'm asleep after getting home at 2 or 3 am. I don't begrudge folks making a buck and we have the choice of buying or not but when you have every family member in addition to your friends standing in line to circumvent their 3 box limit, leaving the shelves bare for me who only wants to have enough to hit the range on a Saturday, then selling at a eye watering mark up.....I'm a little less forgiving.

I have formed a routine where I buzz through all the ammo search sites quickly. One of them does not have any gougers on it, so it seems empty but i scored with it twice last week on .223 at normal prices and i've seen 22 lr come and go several times and passed it up because i'm sitting okay. I only look once or twice a day.
