Guns down under

Found this issue while perusing my online library. Glad to see my library still carries some gun magazines like Guns and Ammo and a few others. Anyone else use the library for digital gun mags?

BTW..Ammo is high down under too…even in Aussie dollars. Looks like guns are too.

I must say, our gun mags are pretty boring when compared with USA gun mags. The articles are dry and the authors generally seem to lack a personality. But remember, we can't keep firearms for CCW, self defence, or home defence. Also we don't have as many man-killing creatures as North America, eg bears.

But you have crocodiles. That alone will keep me out of any down under swimming holes .

It’s the giant spiders and voluminous venomous snakes that keep me out of Oz My in-laws live on Waiheke Island in NZ and I have learned they have nothin poisonous anywhere in country. That’s where I’ll be headed one day.

Everything in Australia and the surrounding ocean is poisonous, deadly and will eat or just plain hurt you. Gotta be tough to live there. And to defend yourselves you carry large knives and use single shot rifles so you must be darn good shots. BTW, in NC we have every poisonous snake found in the states but poisonous spiders and box jellyfish are rare. Stay frosty.

Was staying at a surfing buddy's place in West Oz, in the bush just south of Margret's River...woke up in the middle of the night, felt something on my chest, flicked on the light as it slipped off...spider as big as the palm of my hand scuttled off...my buddy accusing me of screaming like a girl..I maintain otherwise..lol

Thanks for the offer AJ but I can get some of the US mags anyway. Most Newsagents stock some sort of shooting magazines. Plus I subscribe to American Handgunner too.

As for snakes, they are a protected specie. So you're not meant to go and kill them;- technically. Obviously, if you're in danger, you can defend yourself.

By the way, I was pretty surprised to see how many different gun magazines are free through my library app. I guess Beverly Hills is more gun friendly than the Los Angeles public library.
