I have owned a bunch of different revolvers and other handguns over the past 5 years. I tend to do a lot of trading. That said, I will NEVER be without a good K frame revolver again. I have finally learned that these fit me best, good size/weight ratio, are reliable and suffiecient for any threat. I currently own a 15-3 nickel plated revolver. It could only be bested by a Model 67 just for durability of finish. I think I'll head to the range today.

12ga 870 and a 1911 .45.

If you can't do it with one of 'em, it may not be worth doing.

If for some reason I could only keep one firearm I own, It would be a nice .22 rifle.
Next would be,,???, Not sure.

...12 gauge pump

...Ruger Super Blackhawk...single action simplicity...Ruger rugged reliabilty...

...don't have one yet...but I really want a Marlin Guide Gun in .45-70...

...if survival was the main concern...I'd swap the Guide Gun for the most accurate scoped bolt action .308 I could find...

Since the question is plural, I would not be without the following three in order.

12ga. Shotgun. (My choice, Remington 870)

.45 semi-auto pistol. (My choice, Springfield XD. 1911 comes close, but lacks the firepower.)

Revolver(s), .357 Magnum S&W 686 or Ruger GP-100

A good .22LR rifle. (Savage bolt action or Ruger 10-22)

Ammo is in the most common calibers (and gauge).

WG840

I'd keep my 65-5LS and my 870 12-gauge, for certain. But I'd like (and intend) to keep most of the rest of the guns I own.

29 / 629 .... it will handle just about anything you can tangle with in life.
If it cannot, your common sense probably should have told you not to be there

Marlin 1894 (.357)
Model 19 (.357)
12 ga. shotgun
Ruger MKII (.22 LR)

A 22 rifle
A centerfire high powered rifle
A 12 gauge pump
A 22 pistol or revolver
A 38 J frame for the pocket
A good belt gun in .357 or 44 special or up.

I am well fixed with favorites in all catagories.

.22 Rifle (Ruger 10/22 / Marlin 39A)
.22 Handgun ( S & W K-22 / Model 41)

.308/.30-06 Rifle (Winchest model 70/Rem. 700)
12 gauge Pump Shotgun (Rem. 870/Win. Model 12)
.38 special compact revolver-S & W M-642/442
.44 Magnum Revolver (S & W Model 29-2 4"/6")
1911 Handgun (Kimber & Colt .45's)

...I don't think I'd post a list that long if I lived in California...seems to me I read about a guy in California awhile back that had to submit to a psychiatric evaluation for a list about half that long...

I don't think this list can be improved. It should be the "basics" for every shooter's safe.
