Gunshop Discount Bin - What have you picked up?

I get my best value in the holster bins - I have bought two Milt Sparks 1911 holsters and two S.D. Myers Tom Threeperson holsters.

I do good on eBay as well - last week I bought an SD Myers (El Paso) 5" Threepersons holster in black (my usually color) for $24 - delivered!

I did get five S&W M&P .45 mags a couple of months back for $30 by the time I paid premium, tax and shipping.

Not exactly in the bargain bin but I figure it was a bargain - I picked up this 1923 Colt Commercial GM for $350 but it was some time ago!

It wasn't that good a deal, it had been reblued and so I had a local guy engrave it for me.

I built the sights myself, as a reasonable facsimile of the 1/10" optional sights Colt offered back in 1912.

Riposte

I was in Utah for a match last year and stopped in to check out and support all the LGS. One of them had super friendly service, so I was inclined to spend more $$. As I made my way around the store, they had two large Rubbermaid totes (maybe 3 feet long?) at the end of the counter. Each was full to the top, and they were marked with '$10'. I dug through the first one and found some GOLD, so as I piled my swag on the counter the Manager said, 'You like that stuff? You can have the whole bin for $125'. I stared at my pile, looked at him and said, 'How about $100 for both bins?' He replied, 'Ohm I meant both bins. Yeah, I can do $100 for all of it. And you can have the bins.'

I poured all of it into one bin, secured the lid, and nested it inside the second bin, and stuffed it into my car.

That night in my hotel room I sorted out several dozen leather holsters, including 6 old leather competition holsters for 1911s and BHPs. Mag carriers, mags, two Safariland competition rigs for the 929 Performance Center 9mm, leather slings, swivels, CA Competition Works 12ga shell carriers, and the list goes on. Easily $2,500 worth of great stuff.

At a shop in AZ I scored 20 old Winchester Super X boxes of ammo, all full. 10 boxes of .300 H&H and 10 of 7x57 Mauser. $10 per box. I also scored some WW2 issue 1911 mags, a VZ52 mag in 7.62x45, and some surplus TSG mags. The mags were $5-$10 each.

I really like the comfortable IWB N82 Tactical holsters that cover the complete grip and have a nice sheepskin backing. I was in my LGS the other day and saw one in the discount bin...hmmm....wonder what this one fits? I picked it up and looked at the sticker saying "1911".

Cool...It was only $25 so I snagged it up. I didn't have one for a 1911 yet.

BTW, I've been looking for another one for my new Springfield Hellcat Pro with Viridian green dot and could not find out what ever happened to their web site...it was just gone. Did they go out of business? Crap, I really like their great IWB holsters! So, I did some more earching and found they must have been bought by Crossbreed. Sure enough...I found a N82 on the Crossbreed website and ordered one.

Do you remember what the guy in the bowling alley bar said?
' Sometimes you get the bar, sometimes the bar gets you .'
A while back, I really don't remember when and where,
I bought a Smith & Wesson holster from a junkbox.
Smith & Wesson holster should fit a Smith & Wesson right?
Well, maybe not. Turns out it fits a Colt.
Maybe I should turn in my Ready, Fire, Aim membership card!
