Not my favorite place to go, but my son wanted to go and wanted to be with my wife so she went to.
Parking is FREE! But it costs 8 bucks each to get in so that's $24.
Of course there were tables of trinkets and stuff that had nothing to do with guns, but I saw some interesting things.
I've been wanting (wishing) for a .30 carbine. First table I walked to what was the first thing there? Kinda rough shape, shooter, needs some work but the sticker price was $650. Now that's exactly what I could use and I don't care if it's a little rough and needs work. In fact, I saw a lot of what I wanted. Lots of Henry levers. Well, I can't afford it right now.
There were more surplus rifles that I wouldn't mind having either. SMLEs, 1903s, Arisakas and more.
If you are a 'Tactical' person (I'm not) it was a dream. Black guns from Kel Tecs to Scorpion to a genuine M-16.
Rifles, carbines pistols.
A surprising amount of revolvers, mostly BIG ones.
A friend is looking for a laserized Shield. Guy had them for $369. Not a rock bottom price but no shipping, no transfer. They have a place not too far away. Good find.
An absolutely AMAZING variety of semi pistols. CZs were attractive, you don't see them around much.
Accessories out the ying yang. My son was interested in a few holsters and bought on. I bought a full AR tool for 15 bucks which is a lot better than I've seen. Why are these so expensive elsewhere? If this cracks in half I'll know why it was so cheap.
I finally came across components. Good prices on bunches of powder at least to me since people around here price a lb of anything close to 30 dollars. Primers were $1/box cheaper than my usual hang out. $30 small pistol. Bought a box. Wish I could have bought more. It would have negated that $8 entrance.
One interesting thing happened. Some woman was trying to buy a gun with a felony on her record. The organizer was telling her that she wasn't even supposed to be there, but she just stood there like 'What, little ole ME?" while he repeated himself about 10 times. Probably thought a gun show would be an easy place to get one for her 'boyfriend' to leave on the kitchen table where a 3 years old would get it and kill himself. I saw a sign that told the story. "Don't Ban Guns, Ban IDIOTS!"
The funniest one we saw was, "I'm not a Redneck Hillbilly. I'm an Appalachian-American."
Well, we actually had a good time. I guess I can write it off in the 'entertainment' category since about anything you do nowadays costs money.
