I went to the gunshow Saturday. I had not intended to add to my S&W 3rd generation stable, unless I found a 3906/3904.

I stopped at a table of junk guns, looking very much like police confiscation handguns, and spotted a 6906 mixed in the pile.

It had been shot very little, and had some light scratches and handling marks. No box, one mag. I offered a fair price, and the dealer accepted it. Oh well, I needed another 9mm

.

Then further up the aisle, I found a dealer selling complete uppers. He was VERY proud of those uppers too! He had a 95% 6904 upper. I'm a big fan of two tones. After some dickering he parted with it, and I have a new to me two tone 6906.

I'm going to get some Hogue wrap around/finger groove 69XX series grips for it, and have a Lew Horten look-a-like.

I shot the 6906 yesterday for function. It was 100% reliable and fairly accurate. Not 3913 laser like, but very good for the limited amount of shooting I did with it. I had all my 3913's good qualities, with extra rounds. Whats not to like?

Anyone have the "real deal", Lew Horten two tone 6906? How about a PC 6906? Nice pistols. Regards 18DAI.

You wouldln't want to part with that stainless slide would you? I would like me a two tone as well, but my starting point is a 6904. I want the stainless for it's rust resistance, aluminum frames don't rust.

Not a great picture, but this is a 6906 two tone I bought a year or so back. I called S&W on it and it was a special order small police order, but the computer does not show what the special features were, so all I can say is it MIGHT be a factory two tone. I like it anyway!
