I have a friend who is starting his battle with cancer and was a long time gun-maker. He is wanting to get rid of a small inventory of parts for S&W K frames and Colt 1917s. There are hammers, cylinders, barrels and assorted mechanical parts for both models. If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I can provide more details.

First and most important, I wish your friend the best of luck and a speedy recovery!

If you were to list the specific parts in the "Accessories for sale" section I don't think they would last long, as long as they are related to popular guns and models. Of course photo's and honest condition is of the utmost importance. If he does not have the patience to sell them part by part, at least list quality photo's with some descriptions. It would save you guys time and trouble in the long run I think. Someone might also be interested in a bulk sale price.

Sorry to hear about your friend's struggles, praying for his heath and strength.

The classified section here is a good one. He could also consider other firearm brand related forums to match audience interest (Colt, Ruger, etc.).

Also, not sure about the size of his inventory, but Jack First gun parts is a well known National retailer of all things gun parts, and may be a good one-stop solution. I'm not sure how they handle buying, but you could call them for information. Good luck.

Thanks all for your replies and inquiries. The collection of WWII N and K frame parts surpassed my expectations by a great deal. There are a couple hundred large to tiny parts for these two models, and almost all are new - never installed parts. My friend estimated all the parts at close to $3000 retail price and wants to sell as a lot only. Of course, he is not expecting that amount of money, but so far none of those initially interested have a need for this many parts. Therefore, I am going to contact Numrich Gun Parts soon as to what they would do for the pile of parts, if no one here has an interest in them.

Thanks again for all your kind thoughts and know that he is now going through Chemo so ultimate outcome of this treatment is not yet known.

About 5 years ago, a local gunsmith went out of business here and also contacted Numrich Gun Parts about his parts. They offered him 10 cents on the dollar and he had mostly new, unused parts. He found another, in state gunsmith and sold them for 25 cents on the dollar.
Just my 2 cents worth;
Mike
