Sir - I will give you my opinion as someone who has worked on S&W since 1970. To "accurize" a revolver is to improve the stock gun to a noticable degree. Without changing the barrel to a match-grade barrel, you will not get much improvement. You can smooth the action, eliminate end play, have perfect timing, and still the group size will remain almost the same. Only when you move up to a match grade barrel will the group size shrink down. See any top grade PPC revolver, or check out Jim Clark's custom "Harry Reeves" revolver and you will see the finest money can buy. A stock S&W will never equal these special built guns.
 
I've used Clark Custom Guns for several. They are the best. The late Jim Clark was a national champion shooter himself, and developed the techniques that make their guns exceptional.
