I have the Standard Buffer that came with the Sport and the casings are being ejected about 9' at 4:00.
Would it be better to get an H buffer and keep the standard spring and would the H2 be overkill?
I'm shooting 5.56 M-193 55 gr.

I saw this chart before, where or who generated this? Is there data of some kind to support this chart? I use the same type of ammo and have an ejection pattern in the "overgassed" area. About 2-230 range, which I like @ the range BC I'm not throwing brass at the guy to my right. This chart would indicate a issue, which I have a hard time with BC the internals on my M&P15 are stock.

I have a mp15 A. my brass all lands about 2:00 butt I believe it bounces off the kick out on the upper just behind the ejection port. the brass leaves a little residue that wipes right off. I just shoot it as is not to worried about it should I?

I'm more concerned about the Distance the casings are thrown. I just want to shorten the distance and relieve some of the SLAM of the BCG.
Not so bad in the middle of a field but at the range the Hot casings bounce back on me.
I ordered a Spikes H2 at 4.0-4.2 ozs.

Give the Spikes a try and see how it goes.
It might slow down the cyclic a bit, but I'm not sure you would see that with the stock trigger anyway.

My understanding of the ejection chart is that it is a tool to be used IF you are having cycling problems. If the weapon is cycling properly (ejecting spent brass and new round being picked up) then I don't care where it lands, if not, then the chart can give me a place to start.
I have a Clinton-ban RRA that throws brass anywhere from 1 to 6 o'clock and 2 to 15 ft away. Been shooting it 20yrs and it has never missed a beat.
The trigger won't effect the buffer, but the heavy buffer will slow down the rifle fractions of a second, which probably won't make any difference unless you are very adept at rapid fire (in which case it may throw your timing off).
I agree with MPDC that mucking around with something that is functioning flawlessly is probably not a good idea.

I agree that if it aint broke don't fix it but as I posted earlier this month after about 300 rounds I couldn't pull the BCG back using the charging handle. I had to send it back to S&W.
They never said what was wrong or what they did to fix it.
Since I have run about 200 rounds with no problems.

The trigger doesn't effect the buffer, but the heavier buffer effects the cyclic because it's mass keeps the bolt locked up a bit longer (an object not in motion opposes being moved, and the more mass, the more opposition .....thing).

The stock trigger on a Sport is so .... well .... horrible and slow, that it might not be able to see the delay caused by a heavier buffer.

For guys wanting to smooth out the recoil and not concerned with cyclic rate (i.e. long range shooters that want the least recoil, and to get the most out of the burn)..... a heavier buffer and/or spring can do that, but for a 3G race gun, lighter buffer, spring and even a lightened/drilled bolt carrier ...... make the cyclic rate faster, but at some point the increased recoil outweighs the speed advantage, because if you get too much recoil it takes more time to get on the next target.

Anyway ...that's the theory/physics behind it ..... and we haven't even discussed gas systems.

All of the above will obviously have some impact on the "eject-ulation" chart. ;)

P.S. I'm with the if it ain't broke guys, but seeing as you already have it on order .....
