H&R Self Loader keeps walking pin out..

I took my H&R .32 Self Loader out the other day and was having some issues with the magazine, then the slide locked back because the pin that hold the barrel in place was preventing the slide from going forward. I got a brass punch and tapped it back into place, but it did it again after another few rounds.

Anybody have a suggestion on how to keep this from happening? First pic is the gun, second pic is the pin that keeps walking out.

If it were mine, I would push that pin out, place it between two layers of masking tape, place the pin on a hard surface and tap it in the middle with a flat face punch on both sides. Not a smashing blow, just hard enough to put a bulge in the pin, that should tighten it up well enough to keep it from walking out in either direction.

Sometimes stippling the surfaces on the pin increase the diameter enough to hold firmly.

Replace it with a roll/spring pin.

I would try Blue Loctite first and see if that holds the pin in place.
It should do the trick yet be easily disassembled should the need arise.
The pin just holds the trigger guard in place thru a lug in front.

If you go the 'Peen the Pin' route..I would avoid doing anything to the pin itself as that will leave marks on the circumference of the hole in the frame as it's driven in.
Not a big deal, but can be unsightly on a nice collectible as the upset oversize peened 'fins' cut into the frame to hold the pin in place.
I would instead if doing this, remove the trigger guard and carefully punch the lug on the trigger guard that the pin goes thru. That makes the pin a tighter fit in it.
You don't need much.
Then reassemble.
There won't be any marks on the frame hole or the pin itself either side when doing it this way.

You could knurl one end of the pin or have a machinist make a tighter pin with a knurled endSimilar to the swell with a punch idea. But using lines of slightly displace metal

I would put a slight bend in the middle of the pin. Then it won't be a larger diameter, but still have a grip on the hole.
