Had a 66 no dash arrive today.

I had a 66-1 but my first 66 no dash. Was going to post a photo but everytime I try the whole page dissappears and have to start over. Here's a link. Don't know if it will work.

Looks correct other than somebody might have tried to turn the wrong side.

I agree.
I can't state with certainty that all no-dash 66's had the SS rear but that is something that was changed on the -1 and subsequent others.
Nice looking gun though.

I also agree. The Model 66 "no dash" that I owned was made in the first year of manufacture and had the all stainless treatment, including the rear sight. Later changed due to difficulty in getting a good sight picture in bright sunlight.

I have two no-dash Mod. 66 2.5" and both came to me with blued rear sights. 1974 and 1975 guns.

After a quick check of SCSW, it seems that early 66 no-dash (intro 1970) had the SS while latter had black and was not noted as associated with -1 changes (circa 1977). The 2.5" were introed 1974.

Heres my 66 no dash with box papers tools etc. it also has a blued rear sight with white outline

John: I have a no-dash 66 which dates back to 1975. By then S&W was putting blued rear sights on them as well as red inserts in the front sights. Only the early production no-dash guns had the stainless rear sights.
