My 43 year old SIL had never shot a handgun of any type. A few times of shooting shotguns and rifles. Fixed that today. On the drive to the range went over the safety points. Started him with a Browning Buckmark, explained how it functioned and general range rules. Had the place to ourselves so that was nice as we could converse sans muffs. He did very well, the picture shows the 1st 30 rounds along with the big smile.
Then we went to 38spl. 1st up was an M&P 38spl circa 1911, not as accurate, then Model 66 2 1/2", did better. then the Colt Python 3 " and he found his groove. He shot it better than I do.
Asked if he was ready for a new expensive hobby and told him what the Python cost, reply "well, not yet" But he wants to go again.
