I was recently given a real nice Hand Ejector, Model of 1905, Change 3, 6", 32-20. The serial number is 56551 and I figure it was shipped in 1912 or 13. I plan to get a letter to know for sure. It took me quite a while to gather all I needed to load some ammo so I could take it to the range and see how it shoots. This revolver has been refinished and I expect it was badly pitted prior to this. It was obviously heavily buffed because the S&W logo and the caliber designation are very light or gone. Mechanically it's perfect although the hammer and trigger have been plated. When firing it I found the front sight to be so narrow that it was difficult to see at an indoor range. It grouped high and left at 10 o'clock when firing at 10 yards but I was able to put better than 1/2 my rounds in a 4" bull by holding at 5 o'clock. That was with a load of 3.0 grains of Unique pushing a 115 grain lead flat nose bullet. The lock works in these old revolvers are a work of art, you can almost see how each piece was hand fitted. Here are a few pictures.

Thanks for setting me straight on the grips, I've been wrong for a long time! As a result of your info, I've corrected my original thread.
