Handejector sighting...

Lots of great stuff on those old magazines. Maybe it
was McManus who wrote about observing a red-headed,
double-breasted, matress-thrasher. Apparently, fine examples
are hard to pin down. I've been on the lookout for one for
nearly 30 years, with no luck. The article was a little vague
about the locale where he spotted one. TACC1

Who's Patrick McManus??

Outdoors/humor writer. I grew up reading his stuff in Outdoor Life & Field & Stream in my Grandparents' basement when I visited them in Salina, Kansas during the summertime.

Same here. My father didn't subscribe to magazines but my uncles did and whenever visiting relatives as a kid, I'd be found sitting out of the way reading their Field & Stream and Outdoor Life collections, always first flipping to the back to find McManus' columns. Great humorist.
