Finally found one semi locally for under MSRP. After initial inspection, cleaning, and handling …… I’m very impressed!

I was really wondering how the target style stocks would feel with the slightly larger/heavier revolver (than my 2.5” with service grips). Even tho I have several other options, I love the feel right out of the box.

At some point in this blizzardy weekend I’m gonna run some rounds thru it and will offer my opinion here. But so far, so good!

I will get a 3" eventually.

I am kind of waiting for CZ to make a decision if they are going forward with the Black DLC finish as a standard offering or going to leave it as a Custom Shop option. I think the 3" looked absolutely awesome in this finish. I am sure some of you have already seen this image

As to grips, I have been very pleased with the Kingwood Hogue grips that I put on my Ultimate Stainless 2 1/2" Python about 3 decades ago. This revovler also happens to have Walt Sherman's roller bearing conversion since I was going to use it in the Snubby PPC matches

They have served me much better than the stocks that shipped with it. I order my Hogues minus the finger grooves, but I usually add the white line spacer and contrasting buttcap. With the Hogue palm swell, these fit my hand just right.

I use the same grips on my longer Pythons as well, however these are Goncalco Alves

I believe within the next year your wish will be fulfilled. At least I have that on good authority.

Supply finally seems to have exceeded demand. I’m seeing the prices have crept down from where they started out.

Good to know, thank you! Very little of anything here in the valley, from what I see. Maybe I don't get around enough. :o I've been ordering ammunition from out of state. Those $'s have also crept down of late but what I need is simply not stocked and my LGS will not order. And local sales tax is insane on larger purchases.

What's cool  about these new Python threads is that buyers for the most part actually LIKE these guns. I don't see the customary negatives that many express about the Python, old and new. I DO like the original service grips, though.

Happy holidays to all!

I've got two of the new ones, and I actually LIKE the new grips. Best feeling revolver grips I've ever used and I like the muted (dull) color against the "white" stainless steel.

Oh, I really like the guns too. I've sold off a lot of my guns over the last year or so, but the Pythons stay.

Those 3" ones are tempting, but they're still up around 1700 at my LGS. I'm in no rush for one.
