We were together and sharing our lives many years before getting married.
My wife has a friend that she's known since High School that was married to a minister. We planned on visitin' one weekend and decided that while we're there, lets make it official and get married. Got a West Virginia marriage license and went visiting.
We got married on their sofa, in the living room of their trailer.
